What a long day. I don't think I actually got that much done, it was just extemely busy. And it really puts a damper on the day when someone rolls in at 4:30 needing emergency help. What was going on the rest of the day? Seriously. I am also upset with this, "well the economy is so bad out there" excuse. I get it, it can be rough, but everyone is dealing with it. Oh and in every report it seems that OKC is ranked in the top ten for beating the recession, and I can't drive to work without seeing help wanted signs. Just putting that out there. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, but it is the first and now more people are eligible, so it'll probably be busy again.
So, I didn't get the work done in the yard that I wanted. The weeds are starting to take over! I'll get after it, hopefully tomorrow. The weather should cooperate too. I'm going to stop talking about it and do it tomorrow. Also added to the list of chores now is cleaning the oven. I was baking a cake, or at least trying to, and it overflowed all over the oven. I went into the garage to switch the laundry and when I opened the door to come back in, there was smoke everywhere! So, I quickly turned the oven off and opened all the doors and windows. The stench is still around though. And worst of all, I didn't get to have any cake!
Busy Busy

Today was a crazy busy day at work! I got a lot done and still have some to do before the first gets here. Which, will bring more work, I'm sure. Busy time. Of course I do like it more than being bored.
With all the rain and nasty weather, the little work that I had started to do on the yard was for not. That is my goal this weekend, get after the yard. The weeds are out and my allergies will verify that! I'm ready to start with some home repairs on the outside too.
The goats that Dad got are still there, I guess. Still not 100% sure why he got them. His story is to clean up the brush under all the trees, but I'm not sure they'll do more than stink the place up!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DINASAUR!!! Still, the best roommate ever! I hope you had an awesome day! You're still amazing and I wish you all the best.
Why We Wear Orange
This was an email tht was forwarded to me today. Makes ya remember the good old days of college. Don't forget to wear your orange!
When I see people wearing OSU hats or shirts, most of the time no words have to be spoken. I started thinking about orange and what it means. Is orange a particularly pretty color? No. Yet we all find it beautiful. Is it a popular color? Fashion right now has a lot of orange in it, but normally, it isnt. Is it a powerful color? It is eye catching, but not really considered powerful. So why in the world do I and other faithful love it so much? The color is a symbol. It is all we remember of our Oklahoma State.
To us it not only symbolizes eons of national championships, but also 3-7 seasons. It is Theta Pond, it is Greek Row, it is the Union. It is Barry Sanders, Eddie Sutton, Mike Gundy, Pat Jones, Big Country, Henry Iba and Rashaun Woods. It is meeting your friends at Joes, the Hideaway or the DOG. It is illegal dorm parties. It is Pistol Pete. It is the Waving Song or the Alma Mater. Its IFC. Its Bedlam 01 in Norman and broken roses. Its Garth and Cross Canadian and Boland. It is The Walk, it is tailgating. It is that girl you always wanted to ask out but never did. Its the guy you always wish would have. Its date
parties and pre-parties. Its the swan. House decks and hot chocolate and pomping and signs that say Do not watch Arc! It is late night Pizza Shuttle runs. It is no air conditioning in the dorm or getting tickets from campus police. Its the Sirloin Stockade steer floating in Theta Pond. It is signing up for a 4 hour class at 7:30 in the morning as a freshman. It is DUIs and MIPs and learning to never do that again. It is Bedlam. Its FIJI, DELT, SNAKE, THETA, PI PHI, AGR. It is heart breaks and leaving friends. It is showing our recruits how much we appreciate them, it is feeling disappointed when some choose to go elsewhere, or the elation of them deciding to come to OSU and join our family. It is Thursday nights. Its planes, Colorado, snow and memories that burn in all hearts that wear the Orange and Black. Its Stout, Classroom, Ag Hall and Kerr-Drummond. Its an orange fountain; its
finals week. Its meeting a kid thats parents knew your parents while they were here.
We cant talk about our feelings for our school without going into stories that would make peoples eyes glaze over and bring a tear to some. Its hard to explain to people that the reason we wear orange isn't because of sports or 7 National Football Championships. It isn't because of any one thing or even 100 things. Orange is pride in all things OSU. Be they good things or bad things, they are all part of why I love OSU. When I see people wearing OSU hats or shirts, most of the time no words have to be spoken. Just a nod or a smile and we both know that orange is something special.. A lifetime of friends, fond memories, hurts and joy that we all have and will keep for an eternity~ One day our kids will hear and then they will see and then theirs will hear about the times as they are and
were~ All the while the chimes will sing the fight song, hearts will flutter and folks will feel a great sense of belonging. Fans children will sit on parents shoulders with arms waving to Bullet racing out of the West end zone and the commentators voice saying, With 9:08
remaining in the first half; Here Comes Bullet! When you pass a car with Pete peering out of an Orange Star, you know that they know that you know; Its letting go, holding on, and forever remembering why we were/are at the best college in America.
GO POKES!

Summer 2009 Kraft Family & Food magazine, page 34-35. My little buddy made kabobs last time she was down and they were amazing! Next time let's try these. Kraftfoods.com. Pineapple chucks in BBQ sauce grilled. Mmm. That sounds amazing too!

I'd like to make a retraction. Dude is not the father. Sounds like a bad Maury show right? I know. They are half pit and boxer. I don't know what mom was thinking. But i'm thinking she needs to get her eyes checked.
Also, where is the winter mix? Oh yeah they say it's still coming. We'll see. Later,

Dude's a dad. And very unexpectedly. He's not even 1 year old. He's getting the issue fixed very soon. I didn't think it was possible but little did I know. Oops.

Moving on up

So, the Twittering is adictive, as predicted. According to twitterholic.com, I am even up to number 91 for people who list themselves as being from OKC. That's just a measure of how many people are following you. Which, I don't know why people would want to follow me, but they do and I don't mind. There are things that I'm sure I'm not yet using to the full potentional. One side effect, the battery on my phone doesn't last near as long now, as I am constantly checking for updates. At least I hope that's the reason and it's not just going out, because really I'm not checking all that often as I do work.
The dogs are getting on my ever loving last nerve tonight. Dude is non stop wanting to get up in my face. Dask wants outside every two seconds, and when he does all he does is bark at the neighbor's dogs and then scratch at the door to come back in, and then the cycle starts over.
Tomorrow will be a long day at work I'm sure. I'm the worker of the day, me and my desk mate always get paired together. As the WOD, you get to see all the walk ins to the office and anwer their questions/complains/moans and groans about their case. Which you can't work the case for them, although I prefer this way to the other option of seeing all your own walk ins. You never know when that could be and it was difficult to plan a normal day.
Snow on Friday in March. It is Oklahoma, so I guess that is about normal. Of course it could just be another scare from the weather teams with the news, or it could be for real and we'll be blanketed with some nice white snow. Well, time to get ready for that I guess. Later,

I am slowly realizing that keeping up with all of the online social networks takes a lot of time. It would probably be easier to sit down and call all my friends one at a time. But that's not as fun as directing people to your myspace or facebook and having everyone know every waking moment ok Twitter. The blog is nice but still people don't really want to read, I know I don't. It's easier to look at pics and stalk people's profile. You know who you are crazy stalkers!
So, tomorrow seriously isn't Friday? That would be so sweet! I am back up worker of the day tomorrow, so bring on the moaning and groaning. Oh joy, hump day should always be followed by a happy hour! Later,

Back to work today after a few off last week. It was nice to get the break and have Chelsea in town, but I got a little behind at work. It was only a couple days and I had over 350 emails to go through, a stack of papers on my desk, 200 plus documents pending action and 15 return call messages. It was also the middle of the month and is the slow time! Well, I guess that's what happens when the state has record numbers of food stamp applications in the month. The state office also updated one of our programs and a few forms. This is normally something I like for them to do, although I was a little lost. I can normally flow through the program well but I had to manage the new formatt and being behind all at once. I am still not caught up like I would like to be but I'll get there again.
Now, the weather today as talked up big by the news stations last night. Today was cloudy and VERY wind, with a small patch of rain. VERY windy, means VERY windy being in Oklahoma. Tonight there was some severe storms north, but still nothing outrageous for Spring time. It should be nice sleeping weather with the rain tonight though.
Twittering is going well. Although it also reminds me of how boring I am. I like getting the updates from everyone else though. All the news and other things in short clips, constantly updated. It's nice. I would like for some other friends to join and that would make it better.
Now, if I could get someone to do my laundry that I've been complaining about forever, that would be great! Ay volunteers? Later,

Another Chelsea Weekend
Sunday, March 22, 2009
Welcome back to me blogging! I know you missed me. :) Chelsea came into town for a week for her Spring Break. We started last weekend in Stillwater and ended up at the house. Stillwater was great and Nina got a sweet bachelorette party! Chelsea went to Elton John in Tulsa for St Patrick's Day, meanwhile, Kendra and I partied it up in OKC. Chelsea brought a load of kitchen stuff and we got most of that unpacked and loaded into the kitchen when she got back into the city. She's planning on moving in July. She should get her acceptance letter to OU Grad School in early April. No worries, but she doesn't listen to me! Plan on going to the No Doubt concert in July in Indiana and then move her back to Oklahoma! I'm also going to start trying Twitter, the widget is on the page here check it out. It's another way to keep in touch and I think it will be helpful. That's about it for now. Later,
